915 Air Warriors inducted into Indian Air Force

CHENNAI: A batch of 915 Air Warriors has been inducted into the Indian Air Force on completion of 54 weeks of rigorous training at two premier institutes in the Airforce Station at Tambaram here.

A passing-out parade was held Tuesday to mark the induction, a Defence release said.

Nine personnel from armed forces of friendly foreign countries also completed their training at the Mechanical Training Institute and Workshop Training Institute, it said.

On the occasion, Air Commodore M S Awana urged the inductees to continously enhance their technical knoweledge and skills.

“… with the induction of the state-of-the-art aircraft equipment and weapon system, the Indian Air Force is witnessing major changes in operational philosophy and the IAF today is on the path of transforming itself into a strategic force of great caliber,” he was quoted as having said.

The ‘Best All-Rounder Trophy’ was awarded to Leading Aircraftsman Vanka Praveen Kumar of Mechanical Training Institute and Leading Aircraftsman Vishwajeet Chaturvedi of Workshop Training Institute.
